My work is deeply associated with memory and nostalgia, tender connections to time, place and belonging. Embodiment through hand making is integral to my process. Allowing my self-critical thoughts to quieten and the work to flow through me in moments of gentle self-reflection. A sense of beauty and tenderness naturally evolve through the work as my mind slows and my body moves in meditative repetitions. The making process is a soothing expression of my inner world.
Working across varied media my work often becomes an amalgam of methods and techniques. Experimentation through paint, printmaking, installation and textiles allows for my creative voice to evolve as my art practice deepens. Developing my own visual style within my original artwork has been, and still is, a project of many years. Creating something that is truly unique is my key to connecting deeply with my creativity.
