For a long time I’ve been yearning to really get into pure abstract. To make totally non-representational work. But the landscape won’t leave me alone. Elements of landscape always seem to appear at some stage in my work. I unconsciously find myself making a mark that is a suggestion of a tree, a mountain, a river.
So I surrender to it. The landscape is in my blood after all. This work is more abstract than landscape however, a ‘Re-awakening’ of sorts, of the visual language that keeps me pushing the figurative boundaries.
