Zena Dubray is an artist from the Goldcoast who has been expanding her skill set in Melbourne since 2016. Her current body of work is focused around the life drawing community. Immersing herself in life drawing has brought a new level of inspiration that was an essential part of stepping into a new direction post Covid-19.
As a life model herself, Zena has found a new level of comfort and appreciation within her own body as she explores the vulnerable act of revealing herself in a space where nudity is viewed much differently than in general society. There is nothing inherently sexual about being nude and there is beauty to be found in all body types, shapes and sizes.
This liberating experience has brought Zena a deeper respect for the human form. She has a strong desire to acknowledge the incredible work of women in the Life Models’ Society and the life drawing community as a whole. Thank you to all the muses and artists who are bold enough to be exactly who they are. In a world with so many pressures to fit in the most rebellious thing you can do is be yourself. Happy International Women’s day.
