Vivi Van Koomen is a Melbourne based Intuitive Abstract Artist.
Her work is driven by intuition. Van Koomen creates vibrant abstracts on all scales and also enjoys circles, patterns, lines, textures, and colours that pop. Van Koomen offers mixed media artworks, skateboard art and a growing mix of assemblage and free form sculptures.
Fully trained in Creative Development, Van Koomen’s connection to her intuition is one of her most prized attributes. Whilst she has a healthy respect for ‘artistic rules’ her ability to connect to her intuition and create from her heart overrides perceived artistic boundaries and results in her art being unique, emotive and fresh. Drawing inspiration from artists like Miro and Picasso, Van Koomen’s work incorporates a diverse array of styles ranging from floral colour splash through to reimagined street art, culminating in linear pattern work.
2024 saw her hold her first solo exhibition at Yering Station Main Gallery, (June 1 - July 8) “On the Colour Spectrum”, -a bold exhibition, exploring the connection between colour and consciousness with over 30 colourful works, including skateboards.
