I am a painter who is inspired by the natural world and the human condition.
Having drawn and painted from childhood - I find art is a way to lose oneself and find oneself at the same time. I work in the Tonal Impressionist method for portraiture and a more abstracted, expressive style for landscapes.
I draw inspiration from the places I've lived and travelled to, and have a particular fondness for both the ocean and for the beautiful landscape where I live in Banyule, VIC - where the Heidelberg School of artists often painted.
When starting a painting, the mood or feeling I get from the landscape, or the model is my first consideration - along with composition, mark making, colour and light. I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I enjoyed painting them.
