Sally Hastings is an emerging contemporary artist from Melbourne, Australia.
As a self-taught painter, her work explores themes of nostalgia, pop culture, kitsch Australiana, street art, hover cats, heaven, hell, phallic objects and the generally absurd. Working in acrylic paints, she uses big bold colours and expressive brushstrokes to bring her pop surrealist artworks to life. Drawing on her 20 years’ experience as an art director/designer in the advertising industry, Sally creates compelling, graphic compositions that draw her audience in. She has made finalist at 'Feel Good Art Prize 2024' at Quadrant Gallery and exhibited at 'Fifty Squared 2023 & 2024' and 'Small Works 2024' group shows at Brunswick Street Gallery. Her first solo show ‘Yee-haw’ was in June 2024 at Revolver Upstairs.
She lives and works at her home studio in Buxton, regional Victoria.
