Rebecca Abbey is a Frankston-based abstract artist whose work sits at the intersection of colour, meditation, and contemplative practice. Her contemplative creative practice grew from personal catharsis and a need for expression, and has evolved into an intuitive, reflective approach grounded in wellbeing, connection, and community.
Her work is instinctual and fluid, often incorporating mixed media and paint remnants from her family's painting and decorating business, alongside motifs influenced by her Mãori heritage. Colour is central to her practice, not only for its visual impact, but for its capacity to carry energy, evoke emotion, and invite reflection.
Rebecca's process is contemplative and immersive, blending meditation, sound, energy, and mindful observation. Each vibrant piece is created with intention, offering spaces for reflection and connection. Through her work, she explores how art can foster contemplation, transformation, and a sense of belonging.
