Alena Landers is a Noongar and Djugun paper artist from Broome, currently based in Narrm (Melbourne). Working across multiple mediums with a particular focus on handmade paper, her practice explores themes of identity, kinship, memory, and cultural continuity. Fascinated by the colours, textures, and scents held within her handmade paper, Alena is drawn to the material’s ability to carry stories through its delicate yet enduring nature. Drawing on personal and collective histories, Alena creates works that honour her to connection to her culture and Country.
