Creativity has always been a part of my life but full time work meant it always took a back seat. In 2022 I caught covid which left me disabled, and generally house bound and at times bed bound. Making jewellery has now become an important part of my everyday life and also serves as an important tool for community connection.
I'm a graphic designer and screen printer by trade but I find making jewellery is where most of my interesting ideas develop. I draw inspiration from the Art Deco and Bauhaus eras, the shapes, the layouts are so eye catching.
What was once a hobby is now a small creative jewellery business called Abacus Designs. You will find my collections in various boutique stores in Melbourne, online in my Etsy store and in person at the Treasures Tastes and Trinity market at Surrey Hills.
