Jan Neil

Jan Neil is an Australian career artist with a focus on contemporary painting and digital Image production. During her long and successful career, she has completed many commissions, in both the public and private sectors. Jan has had numerous exhibitions in all states of Australia and overseas in Hong Kong, the UK and USA. She has works in several major national and international collections. Born in Hobart, Tasmania in 1941, Jan has had a lifetime relationship with art. The natural environment is not the only inspiration for Jan’s image making, the urban surroundings of inner-city Melbourne, particularly street art and graffiti have been the basis of her Digital Art Images. Jan started with several years of watercolour painting, then developed her unique style of Silk Screen Printing. Today her acrylic paintings are on stretched canvas. The works breathe boundless energy and spontaneity through bold colours and sweeping gestural brush strokes. Selected paintings have been reproduced as Giclee Print editions.
