Gordon Flynn

Gordon constructed many laundry darkrooms over the years, making B/W prints, evolving through various iterations into digital technology. Throughout those changes its attractions remain in its immediacy, its ability to capture just a moment in the relentless wash of time. It has enabled us to examine the detail of a single point in a running narrative, and enjoy the interplay of humans in a context, both social and environmental. Photographs can be entertaining, informative, persuasive, humanizing, enlightening or a Venn diagram overlap of these. The most interesting photographs are ones that show what is happening here, but also set up questions about what else may also be happening.
