My name is Giuseppina Graziano and I an abstract painter born in Italy and living in Melbourne. I create bold, expressionist paintings in acrylic defined by bold colours, dynamic lines, organic forms, gestural marks, and rich, layered textures. My paintings are built through an all-over approach, where no single focal point dominates; instead, I aim to create a visual rhythm where colour and form move in harmony.
My inspiration mainly comes from my inner world and raw emotions and the beauty I see in nature. Travels and everyday life also inspire my work. Painting, for me, is a deeply personal and joyful process, almost meditative, where I can be fully present and guided by instinct. I work mainly intuitively, often influenced by music, allowing each piece to gradually develop through my choices of colour, mark-making, and texture. However, sometimes I paint with a clear idea in mind, especially when working on a series. I’m drawn to creating intricate, multi-layered compositions that invite exploration. As the viewer spends time with the work, new details and connections emerge, offering space for individual interpretation and emotional resonance. My paintings are expressive and uplifting, suited to contemporary spaces where they invite conversation while bringing uplifting energy, movement, and a sense of presence to the room.
