Born with strong connections to Country and nana's raised on Darumbal Country in Rockhampton, Central Queensland, this emerging Aboriginal artist's creative journey began at a young age. Under the guidance of Uncle Peter Wilmot, he learnt the traditional practices of carving didgeridoos and boomerangs and developed an appreciation for crosshatching and cultural storytelling through art.
As life unfolded, art took a back seat while he navigated personal struggles and significant mental health challenges. Through resilience and healing, creativity found its way back into his life through his screen-printing business, where designing for others reignited his passion for making art.
Today, he is exploring a new body of work focused on painting, embracing earthy tones, simple lines, and organic forms. Some works are carefully planned, while others emerge naturally through instinct and reflection, creating deeply personal pieces that honour both his culture and lived experiences.
