Celia Furt is a Melbourne based landscape and wildlife award-winning photographer. Her images capture the beauty of the undervalued landscapes such as Westernport Bay, in Victoria. Her mission is to put these unknown locations on the map for people to travel without leaving their couch.
After owning a theater company in France (her country of origin) in which she wrote, directed, produced many plays, Celia’s photographs are influenced by nature’s continuously changing drama with beaches, sea, trees, birds, mangroves, animals, rocks etc.. acting as heroes, villains, and the sunlight playing writer, director, and main character. Every realistic or abstract scene Celia captures with her drone, or her camera becomes frozen in eternity and will never repeat itself. And the titles tell the stories of these unique and suspended scenes.
Lately, Celia has been linking her aerial abstract drone shots to pastries. Did you know how crunchy and sweet some Westernport Bay coastlines can be? This body of work is called ‘Landstries’, a fusion of ‘Landscape’ and ‘Pastries’. Three triptychs present her Landstries: ‘Tiramisu’, ‘Vanilla’ and ‘Gingerbread’.
