Cecily Trajkov is a self-taught contemporary mixed media artist based in Melbourne, working primarily with gel plate printing, wire weaving and paper sculpture. Her practice is built on years of independent experimentation, driven by the impulse to create and a curiosity for what can be done by hand.
Her work centres on the natural world, layering organic textures and botanical forms to create pieces that feel alive and slightly playful. Whether she is building out clusters of paper mushrooms or constructing a paper wire weaving, Cecily’s pieces are designed as an invitation to step outside, look a little closer, and notice the magic in the everyday environment.
For Cecily, making art is a process of constant learning and pushing her materials. She views her work not just as a solo studio practice, but as a way to connect with people and share a more attentive way of looking at the world around us.
