Cathy has been a professional artist for over 10 years after working as an art teacher in schools.
She quickly gained recognition and was selected as a finalist in notable national art prizes such as the Contemporary Art Awards, the Kennedy Prize, the Ravenswood Women’s Art Prize, the Wyndham Art prize and the Lethbridge Landscape Prize. She has also won several awards and her work was featured on The Block. Cathy has exhibited widely in group shows and she has had regular solo exhibitions. She is committed to developing a personal style and exploring her own artistic vision.
Cathy has a particular interest in depicting landscapes and in capturing the ethereal and spiritual aspects of the natural world. Her use of light has a pivotal role in creating impact and mood in her paintings. Cathy’s work ranges from realism, with a high level of detail, to more abstract and semi abstract pieces which are painted intuitively, incorporating dramatic movement and organic forms to describe places of beauty and mystery.
