My name is Annie. I’m an abstract artist born and bred on the north west coast of Lutruwita (Tasmania). Much of my inspiration comes from the Country around me – the sea, rolling hills and mountains, the wildlife and native plants. My art is an invitation to open your mind to imagination, possibility and the feelings that live beyond what you can see.
I’ve always been drawn to abstract art — bold colour, texture, collage, and the unexpected. I love the freedom art gives me to play, experiment and work intuitively, allowing the artwork to evolve as I go. I want my art to take you somewhere. To spark a memory, stir an emotion or simply make you feel something. Because for me, art isn’t just about what you see – it’s about what you feel.
From a distance, you might see something familiar – a landscape, a place, a moment. But as you move closer, more begins to appear. Layers, marks, patterns and little details that leave space for your own imagination to fill in the gaps.
My own art journey began early in life and has taken many forms, always returning to abstraction. Studying art therapy deepened my understanding of the connection between creativity and the mind and shifted how I see both art and its potential to support wellbeing. Through my art, I invite you to slow down, look a little closer and discover something of your own.
