Alisha F is a proud Wadawurrung artist from Geelong, where she was born and raised on Country. Deeply connected to her heritage, Alisha’s passion for caring for Country was nurtured through five years of working alongside her father as a Cultural Heritage Officer.
Art has been a part of Alisha’s life since childhood, inspired by her Grand-dad, who would gather her, her sister, and cousins to paint together. This early introduction to storytelling through art shaped her creative journey. For Alisha, painting is more than just a practice—it is a space of stillness, confidence, and self-expression, allowing her to share her stories beyond words.
Her work is strongly influenced by the landscapes of Wadawurrung Country, with themes of waterways and family woven throughout. Each piece reflects her deep cultural connection, honouring the land, its stories, and the people who have come before her. Alisha also hopes to inspire others to embrace culture, nature and First Nations perspectives.
“My arts practice takes me away from the noise of the world and it stops time. When life is on autopilot, I feel like I go to a different world and my problems and worries are quietened.”
Aspiring to become a full-time artist, Alisha continues to explore and celebrate her identity through her art, sharing the beauty and strength of Wadawurrung culture with the world.
