Women are like light in its many forms, no instance ever repeated, its intensity or lack thereof a key to making or breaking a mood. Its impermanence is why I am so deeply drawn to it, chasing the magic with my lens, only so I can repeatedly revere it in artificial forever time.
Here, it flooded through the window between the thick, dark drapes hanging in The Library, my favourite room during artist RONE’s TIME Exhibition above the Clock Towers, Flinders Street (Melbourne, Australia).
During processing the emulsion of this Polaroid, I watched it as it freed itself from the backing of the original Polaroid and floated away from it, like a jellyfish. Trying to catch this very thin, fragile layer onto glass, truly felt like I was chasing the light again, and thankfully, it worked and ended up as the Most Divine Feminine shape.
I don’t believe in coincidences.
