What happens when you stop holding back?
Feeling everything at once.
Not choosing which parts get to stay.
Not softening one feeling to make room for another.
The joy beside the weight.
The intensity beside the tenderness.
All of it allowed to exist at the same time.
Less thinking.
More feeling.
Nothing held back.
Unbound explores the point where containment begins to fail.
Built through layers of acrylic, texture and drawn marks, the work moves between control and release. Dark linear forms attempt to hold, divide and define the surface, while colour pushes through and beyond them. Marks are covered, interrupted and exposed again, leaving the history of the painting visible.
That physical tension mirrors the emotional one at the centre of the work. The instinct to contain, organise and make sense of feeling, set against the need to let it exist without restraint.
The surface becomes evidence of that release.
A physical record of what happens when feeling is no longer asked to stay neatly within its edges.
