This is a rare painting for me as my artwork usually consists of brights colours and lose brush strokes. So this piece pushed my artistic boundaries because of the play on shadow and light and the darker tones used to create those shadow and light effects. The reason I called this piece ‘The Witching Hour’ is because it represents when I feel my most creative, in the middle of the night when the world sleeps, I sit in my studio and create. Symbolically, Art being the light in darkness.
