This painting of Tasmania’s Cradle Mountain is my way of capturing the raw beauty and spiritual energy of the landscape. The bold shapes and vibrant colours bring out the striking red hues of the mountain, contrasted by the green and blue tones in the foreground. By keeping the details minimal, I wanted the focus to be on the essence of the scene—its power, serenity, and connection to the soul.
As with much of my work, this piece explores the relationship between external landscapes and the inner self. Cradle Mountain, with its rugged peaks and timeless presence, felt like the perfect subject to express that connection. The composition, divided into two panels, emphasizes the layers and contrasts within nature while inviting reflection on its profound impact on us. For me, this painting is not just about a place; it’s about the way it makes you feel—grounded, alive, and deeply connected.
