A glass roemer sits in a niche holding a delicate pink rose, the light dancing off its reflective pale green surface. Around it an array of bugs and insects has assembled and are inspecting the curiosity. The dark muted tone of the stone wall acts as a contrast to the bright and lively elements around it. From the paintings base a large snail guides our eye along a blackberry vine up into a diagonal that leads us deeper into the space. From there a smaller snail looks to exit the scene, while a caterpillar & butterfly help us continue the ascent. At the top our eyes finally land on the vibrant pink rose, its petals glowing radiantly in the sudden burst of light.
