I have created this painting in collaboration with my sister Fiona Collier. You can learn more about Fiona in this exhibition. We decided we would like to each create a work of our mother, referencing the same photo (taken on mum’s 96th birthday this year). The journey of creating this work has been an interesting one; leading me to closely reflect on our mother; not just her often regal appearance and her piercing blue eyes, but her strengths mixed with vulnerabilities.
