The artwork ‘Moonlit Stream’ depicts a dark and tranquil moonlit stream as it descends down rock faces and through a natural wetland before reaching a large freshwater waterhole that is interspersed with flooded gum trees that appear enchanted and animate. The artwork’s sympathetic depiction of native Australian plants and ecological systems reflects an ongoing tradition of Australian artists being fascinated and inspired by Australia’s landscape.
