“Lion Around” is the hero piece from the Out of Africa Collection by Renee Mitchell. The resting lion called to me, like an aspiration to slow down, to rest, to take a moment to soak up the heat of the day, and be present… or take a nap – in total contrast of my usual day to day. Created in my signature style, with semi continuous line work… or scribble, that filled the space on the paper, as much as it empties my mind. The expressive line work is part of my creative process and expression of a living thing.
