In this piece, I wanted to capture the vibrant spirit of the Australian Blue Bee using embroidery as a form of painting. By working with just one strand of thread at a time, each stitch became a brushstroke, layering colour and life into the bee’s delicate form. Framing it with hessian and timber grounds the work in earthy textures, a quiet tribute to the beauty and fragility of our native wildlife.
