We first came upon another in Dec 2022 at Lourensford, when I was last in South Africa to put my dear late mother to rest. But she felt familiar, like certain parts of myself that I’ve always wanted to protect and keep safe, set in stone. Strong, but soft in nature. She needs to be in all of us, that sense of hope, an innocence that’s no one’s to ever take, because it’s hers to share and emanate through the spark in her eye that wards off all evil. Evil has no place here, nor deception or cruelty. Her kingdom is that of compassion, inclusivity, kindness and safety. How I wish she was always around when I needed her most, but I’m so glad she is here with me now.
