Whilst recently sorting through my mother-in-law’s belongings, I came across a bag of old postage stamps. In finding these treasures, letters sent from her homeland, I realised how similar our migration experiences had been, albeit 50 years apart.
We both left our mothers behind, never to see them again, with only memories and letters of love from our places of birth. These are the words that are forever scribed on our hearts.
