Gluck follows on from the previous work Symphony showing that our perception is not reality but a filtered version of it. Everything we know and see is an illusion, we see it as our mind wants us to see it, the brain does not record the truth but constructs it. For our entire life we see our “self” as a simple, stable and permanent body. Yet it is the exact opposite, our body image is an entirely transitory internal construct.
