This work is inspired by glaciers found in the Southern Alps of New Zealand and their vulnerability due to climate warming. The painting is from a suite of works exhibited in my first solo exhibition ‘Wake-up call: Lessons learned from natures sculptured landscapes’, held VAS gallery February 2025 (https://vasgallery.org.au/Megan-Jane-Johnstone-Wake-up-call-Lessons-from-nature-s-sculptured-landscapes~108397 ). A key aim of this exhibition was to call for protective action of the world’s glaciers and melting cryosphere. NB While the framed painting measures W46cm x H56cm x D2cm, the actual image is W26.5cm x H39cm. The painting is signed on both the front and back and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (provided on request).
