rise for charity

Art with heart.

This piece is part of Rise for Charity (Oct 8 – 26), where each artist selects a charity that matters to them and decides how much of their profits to donate — turning creativity into kindness.

I like to paint how I feel, varying my style from surrealism, abstract to contemporan. I like to explore a range of art techniques, using brushes and spatulas on canvas. apply acrylic paint and mixed media, to my artwork. Three weeks after I was married, I found out my husband had being diagnosed with cancer. He had been fighting cancer for seven years. Everything was fine, but then it came back again. My husband’s illness is the reason behind my painting “Forever more” , as I feel for him and what he is going through. I feel sad, like I’m drowning and lost, only just surviving above water. I know that the memory of the cancer remains within. While the painting has green water flowing through, it’s not green to me. I too strive to believe in him. When we smile, we can hide the pain, watching and hoping for people to pray. The word cancer brings fear to the ones we love. My eyes no longer want to to look at the memory locked within me. Thanks to God I’m now stronger than I’ve ever been.
