This painting is developed through layered applications of oil paint, reflecting the geological stratification of the earth. The surface is intentionally earthy and tactile, inspired by the quiet presence of boulders in the hills on a foggy early morning. Warm creams and soft latte, mocha tones and blue grey form the palette, while the brushwork echoes the expressive mark-making used in my ceramic practice.
