My work often begins with a landscape image, then I imagine how that landscape may inspire an alternative view. This artwork was a bit different. I recalled seeing people wandering between the venues in Lygon Street, Brunswick, dressed to impress. I began with various photographs I’d taken around Brunswick, which I set against a digitally painted urban scene, and adapted elements from my digital asset collection to create The Colours of the North, an imagined scene reminiscent of my old life in Brunswick.
