A mixed-media depiction of Ancient Greek Goddess Persephone eating pomegranate seeds; an action which binds her to Hades and the underworld for half the year. Her absense causes winter and the changing seasons. It is a coming of age, a rite of passage, where Persephone becomes more than just the maiden of spring, she also becomes Goddess of Death and the Underworld. Persephone represents the cycles of nature, life and death, and in this moment of transition she becomes whole. She embraces her light and dark, her mutiple polar aspects and embodies her full power.
