After my mum died I didn’t know how I would be creative again. To cope, I focussed on delight.
Memories of a raucous afternoon at my local pub singing ‘Hey Jude’ with sock puppets, distracted me from the spiral of grief and restored my creativity. Slow paced experimentation developing these works became a repetitive ritual. My reliance on rituals and community through grief was significant.
These sock puppets exist because of a pub community and are in honour of the positive way my mum chose interaction, colour and laughter throughout her life.
