This painting reflects my journey of growth, resilience and self-discovery. The central figures represent different parts of myself—strength and doubt, protection and reflection—learning to find balance through life’s challenges. The lone figure symbolises the path I continue to walk. There have been times when I felt uncertain of my direction, caught between who I was and who I hoped to become. Yet every step, whether difficult or rewarding, has shaped my journey. The handprints and footprints represent both my own experiences and the presence of those who came before me. They remind me that I do not walk alone and that the guidance of my Ancestors remains with me. The flowing lines are my songlines, connecting me to culture, story and Country. They represent healing, belonging and continuity.
