explores empathy, memory, and the psychological closeness that can form through shared experience. The central figure is based on a close friend, while a second face layered through the composition is my own. Their identities merge and overlap, reflecting the way personal histories can become entangled and how we sometimes recognise parts of ourselves within the emotions, experiences, and struggles of those we care about. The fragmented body and repeated face blur the boundary between observer and subject. Visible marks on the skin introduce a quieter sense of vulnerability, suggesting that intimacy can also involve witnessing pain that cannot be completely separated from our own emotional experience. Rather than presenting identity as fixed or singular, Shared Skin considers the ways people leave traces within one another through friendship, memory, empathy, and shared time.
