108 Small Acts of Resistance draws inspiration from the meditation practice, trataka, meaning to see or to gaze. This work explores the act of looking as a pathway toward developing deeper awareness, with each image painted providing a distinct point of entry- a geometric form, symbol, code, or colour field to explore.
The number 108—significant across spiritual and philosophical traditions—anchors the collection both structurally and conceptually, with each works representing the existing 108 whole.
Small Acts invites the observer to contemplate the inner self that exists beyond name and form.
And as a means to make affordable art, the poster version of 108 Small Acts of Resistance was created.
